Eileen Sullivan of Tralee, County Kerry passed away peacefully on Tuesday. Survived by her daughter Mary, her son Paul, and three grandchildren. A devout Catholic and prominent member of the community, Eileen baked scones and apple tarts to raise money for the homeless and was a regular volunteer at the local St Vincent de Paul second hand shop. Eileen was also the founding member of Tralee’s first Pray Away The Gay conversion therapy organisation, teaching young homosexual men and women how to live a life of lies, repression and mind destroying depression before eventually descending into a drink and drug fuelled spiral of anguish and despair, filled with brief moments of false hope and empty joy, all the while dragging them closer to final, absolute, and eternal death. Sadly missed by family and friends.
Requiem Mass Friday at 11am.
Burial afterwards in Meadow Hill Cemetery.
